Too narrow and tight in the toe box for my wide forefoot. I will be trying the men’s version to get a wider fit.
Diane –
I use these shoes for waterproof shoes on the farm. I put in about 15,000 to 20,000 steps a day working 12 hour days. They are comfortable and they hold up. These are my second pair of Keen waterproof work shoes and I would buy another pair. I did try a different brand and I sent them back; they were clunky and slipped off my heel when I walked. I’m all Keen from now on. And they look good for work shoes.
Bethany –
Didn’t care for the whole front of the hiker to be rubber. There was no way for your foot to flex without hitting the hard rubber.
Jules –
I love all Keen shoes and this one is a winner like the others. It’s not a low cut or a high cut hiking shoejust the right height gently touching my ankle bone. Great style.

These run true to size. These are great for my long walks everyday. My toes are free to move around.

I too was surprised by how narrow it felt along the front of the foot. I have normally had no problem with Keen sizing, but this pair is not going to work for me.
Tamsin L –
Excellent shoe, comfortable and waterproof. Size runs small. I normally wear a 9 and needed a 9 1/2. Heel not loose though with the longer length, usually a common occurrence when I have to go up a half size.

Good shoes, but they make my feet sweat–I suppose it is the Keen Dry. Dry on the outside, but not much more breathable than any other waterproofing. The fuchsia laces are a bit much, too.
Dorian –
This is a beautiful shoe ,and looks tough as nails.
It’s got a beautiful contrasting boisenberry area on shoe that matches the strings…a lovely addition
They are so comfortable…they are new nd feel great on this first wearing
Sharie –
very roomy; if you wear hiking socks they will work great. If not they will be too roomy.

Lots of toe room. Size was true.

Easy to put on. Pro foot health. Comfortable for short walks or longer treks.
Sandra –
These are very sturdy and should last a long time. I think they’ll fit better with heavy socks because they are a little loose in the heel otherwise very comfortable. I’ll probably wear them more in the winter.

My old (2005-2015) Keen hiking shoes were wonderful, and I have several pairs. I even ordered one “preused” pair from Great Britain, just be able to keep wearing it. Back then, ordering a half size up was standard and understood. Today the sizing is overly large although it may better comport to international sizing. I’d rather Keen went back to the original and we simply ordered a half size up. The interior of the old shoe was very comfortable, like a cushioned glove all around the foot. These new Keens are very study, but visibly wider in ball of foot area of shoe, losing its previously sleek yet still supportive attribute. It looked good on a woman’s foot. With this new version, It took experimenting to realize the insoles are what so bad about these new Keens. Not only are they bigger and feel stiffer all around, there is no cushioning support that always set Keen apart from the competition. The current inserts are cheap and flat, offering nothing in the way of comfort or support. That is the problem, not the shoe itself, despite its unnecessarily wide forefoot. It reminds me of a shoe designed to fit both men and women, favoring the male’s wider foot. Clearly, male and female feet are not the same and they cannot wear the same shoes. When I swapped out the Keen insole of this shoe with one in my old Keens, these shoes suddenly felt comfortable. It’s amazing what the right finishing touch can do – the difference for customers between returning the shoes and keeping them. I still can’t rate these higher than 3 stars (whereas the old shoes were clearly 5 stars) because of this easily, and inexpensively, fixable issue on Keen’s part. Put in insoles with heavy cushioning and support throughout the heel, arch and ball of foot, and you will again have the best shoes on the market. As is, I have to consider Merrill or any other brand to try to replicate the Keen of old, made in a time when quality product still mattered over profit.

I bought these because I needed a waterproof shoe as I work outside in all types of weather. They seem very well made and sturdy. They are pretty wide in the toe area and feel a bit stiff but I expected that. I wore them the first day for 9 hours noticing they were heavy and stiff without much flexibility. The second day I noticed bruising on the top of my feet and when I tried to wear them it was very painful on the top of my right foot. I could not tolerate them. Sorry to have to send them back but the stiffness must have caused the bruising.

The shoe feels stable with enough mid-sole cushioning, but the women’s 9 feels like a 10 or a men’s 9. I’ve got an 8.5 in my cart and considering, but I don’t understand why this 9 would be so huge. The Targhee III 9 fit like normal. I’m changing out a lot of shoes and I’m shocked at the variability in sizing, even within a brand.
Yoli –
This is the 2nd pair of waterproof shoes I’ve purchased from Keen. The ones I really like are discontinued. I live on a farm so a good shoe is important.
The new shoe is sturdy and water proof. I do notice however that my toes ‘float’ at the end of the shoe despite this being the size that I have always ordered with Keen. I’ve kept them because the length is sufficient despite them fitting just a bit wide in the toe. Overall, a good solid shoe.
Bernice –
Love the waterproof feature and traction is amazing. I did have to put cushion insoles in for comfort.
Karen –
They fit great! We just had lots of snow and I wore them after plowing was done. Great for driving and going to the store. Glad I purchased them.
Lynnsie –
The shoe is very stiff with little too no cushioning. It is waterproof and good looking but uncomfortably
Bernice –
These were too stiff and heavy for my arthritic feet.
Anonymous –
Just didn’t fit my foot right. I had a different style of Keens. I can’t tell what the difference was
Anonymous –
Felt heavy and stiff. Had to really loosen the laces to get over my high instep
Anonymous –
Unfortunately, these were a no-go right out of the box because they cut uncomfortably across the instep, even when completely unlaced. I ordered them after seeing them on someone else hiking the trail with me. She gave them a rave review on comfort and waterproofing, and they are beautiful shoes. As one might expect from Keen, they seem very well-made, and the fit was otherwise perfectly true to size and a great shape for my narrow-heeled, boxy-and-long-toed feet. My instep is pretty high, and I have this issue in other shoes, just never before with Keens.

I love Keens because I have wide feet and have many pairs, but these had a narrow toe bed and were too small around.
