Julie B –
Very happy with these shoes for my 5-year old. He can easily put them on by himself which is important, and they look really nice. Also I love the Keen rubber toe because the shoes last a lot longer than traditional sneakers with that toe protection.

My son has worn a number of Keen shoes. These are the first pair that I am very disappointed in with the construction/quality of the shoe. After wearing less than 2 weeks, they started to tear at each of the corners of the last eyelet (the part that then goes around the ankle. Feels like there is a rough material underneath the fabric that is making it tear/wear through so easily. We received another pair and the exact thing has happened again just after a couple weeks of wear. Also noticed that the strap that goes along the side is also tearing. Very disappointing for Keen shoes. Will still be Keen, but not this pair, not made well!

The comfort and style seemed great, our son loved to wear these. However, we had a the same issue with the tearing near the ankle/top eyelet – the fabric wore out so quickly! We also exchanged ours for another pair and with the same result. Our son is 4 and plays hard but I definitely thought these would hold up. I noticed that some of the Chandler styles now have Velcro at the top, that may solve the problem. We loved the other features of the shoe that I may give the Velcro version a go.

Be careful when ordering these in raven/bright chartreuse. The picture shows a pair of shoes that does not have a velcro strap, and I assumed they would have a toggle to tighten the laces like all the other Keens we have owned. The shoes I was sent have a velcro strap, and the elastic laces are purely decorative, not adjustable at all. They are fairly wide, so if you’re looking for a supportive preschooler shoe, these will not be the ones.

These would be great shoes, but we’ve had three pairs, and they all break quickly – within about a month of daily wear – in the same way: the left velcro strap comes detached from the base of the strap. I’ve tried sewing them back on myself, but they never last for very long. This seems to be a flaw in the manufacturing process, because the right velcro straps stays on just fine. Not worth the price until Keen can fix this problem!
The picture below shows the velcro starting to come detached – it’s hanging on because I used my sewing machine to add extra stiching, but after a few weeks of wear, it only has a few days left in it.

These shoes are awesome. Very sturdy and comfortable. Other shoes won’t last so long but these lasted long enough for three kids to wear. Still looks great

my toddler loves these shoes and they really hold up to wear and tear from dragging feet on the bikes. will buy again

Fit seems fine, easy to get into my son’s feet. Love Keens. Very durable. No complaints from the kiddo.

My 10 year grandson wore these all summer. Over the years I have bought these every summer and they never disappoint. They hold up to lots of vigorous activities and water and keep looking nice. We will purchase again next summer, in a bigger size. Great shoe.

Well made and high quality! The bottoms and sticky for non slip but also non skid for gym floors! But. The seem to run a full size small. We are going to return and order a size up.

I bought these for my nephew. He loves his keens for school. I was told by his parents he’s a size 12 so I sized up to a 13 so he could grow into them. They were actually the perfect fit, I’m not sure if they run a little small or if he just happen to grow over the week. Hard to tell with these quick growing kindergarteners! Anyway, these shoes hold up amazing and he absolutely loves them.

My 3-year-old loves them. They’re flexible, comfortable, durable, and he can get them on/off easily. No complaints.

I love the durability but the Velcro wouldn’t stay attached because of our 2 year olds “fat” foot. 🙁

Perfect sizing and great quality

I bought these for my kid for hiking and Rock climbing and they held up great. He said they were very comfortable.
Sandy –
These are perfect “first hiking shoes” for my grandson! They’re light, but sturdy and he says they’re comfortable. I got them a little big so he could wear them for a little while and they fit great with two pairs of socks.

My kids love these shoes. This is the third pair we have purchased. They are always getting them wet and muddy. I just rinse them in the sink and put the shoes and insoles in front of a fan to dry (or use the vent if not totally soaked). They are always dry and ready to wear the next morning. They do show some significant wear at the end of the summer, but they were put through a lot of abuse and worn every single day. They lasted until we were ready for the next size and my younger son will put some more miles on them when he grows into them.
Pam –
They run big so keep that in mind, about a full size. But he loves them!

I love buying keen shoes for my kids. I wish they had exact same styles and options for adults. My son hasn’t worn this pair much, however, I’ve been upgrading and passing on keen brand shoes because my kids outgrow them before they destroy them (I do typically have at least 2 pairs of shoes for each kid/season) and keens seem to be holding up well.
Hale –
Nice-fit kids love the shoes

These are the only shoes that last! I’ve tried many brands and keep going back to these.
