The greatest shoes ever. I’ve had mine for 7 years and bought these for my dad. Since purchasing, he hang taken them off. He loves them.

I’ve been using this hybridization of sandals and shoes for about 3 weeks in and around an ocean environment. As far as comfort goes, right out of the box they fit like a glove…for my feet. The arch support is excellent, noticeable support without overdoing it. The construction is fantastic, utilizing superior materials. The stitching is also top-notch and very professional. The molded plastic sole of the shoe is pretty bulky and the shoe is somewhat heavy but that’s the price you’re going to pay for the protection and durability of the shoe. The shoes do tend to develop a funk after a couple of days of use but a quick bath and they’re good to go. As far as the look, I was a little apprehensive on first glance out of the box but after some days of use I quickly got over it and have actually been complimented of them numerous times. The utility far, far outweighs the unusual style. So far I’m very happy with the purchase and I would definitely recommend them. True to my size (11) but the toe protection area seems wider than necessary.

These felt very comfortable walking on streets and fully submerged in water with a rocky, coral bottom. They were purchased because of a recent trip to Tahiti where it was strongly recommended to have some sort of water shoe (Not flip flops). My feet were completely protected. I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I was surprised at how comfy they were.

Great shoes. I bought them to go cave tubing in Belize. Until now – I hated sandals and I now find these super comfortable with great support for hiking through the jungle. They do take a while to dry but are wearable wet with no discomfort.

This is my second pair of the Keen Newport H2, but the first time purchasing from Zappos.com. First, the shoe. Obviously I liked it well enough the first time that I bought a second pair. The advice to purchase a 1/2 size larger is correct. They fit great right our of the box. I’ve worn the first pair for several years now and they are still in good shape. Purchased the 2nd pair to use on a Caribbean cruise because we are taking several excursions which require walking and water sports. These shoes work perfectly for those combination of activities. Next Zappos. This company was excellent to deal with. I purchased the Keens on sale, so the price was great, but shipping was equally impressive. The shoes arrived in 3 days after I ordered online late at night. (Note: My wife had to return a pair because of size issues and the new shoes arrived in 2 days.) The whole buying experience using Zappos was first rate and we will be purchasing from them again.

Purchased for husband. He loves them! Super comfortable. He is normal a 9 1/2 wide. Purchased the size 10 and it fits perfectly.

This is 2nd pair of H2 and have regular Newports. The H2 are great, comfort-wise but both pair came apart where the backstraps come together at the ankles. Got less than a year’s wear on each of H2 because the straps wore in two.

I purchased these shoes for a trip to Vegas that included miles of walking. I have trouble finding shoes that aren’t too wide for my feet. Plus, I need some kind of arch support after years of working retail. These worked perfectly!

Keene shoes are awesome for hiking and for taking it around town. They are very comfortable and fit true to size, we even bought his and her shoes. I want to thank Zappos for the next-day delivery (it came in time for our flight to Maui) and fast refund for the shoes we ordered in the wrong size.

Just received my Keen Newport H2s. These are fantastic! I have flat feet and wear a size 15 shoe. So I don’t need to explain what a chore it is to go into shoe stores and have the clerk say, “We don’t ave your size” or “We just sold the last one.” The H2 feels really great on my foot. The arch support is spectacular. Not to mention the color is cool! Even though my wife says they are funky looking, I told her funky in a fantastic way. I’m thinking of another pair!

The Keen Newport is an outstanding sandal, and Zappos is by far the best online retailer, bar none. I have size 13 feet with negative/no arch whatsoever!!! Needless to say, finding shoes or let alone sandals, is nearly impossible (don’t know what I would do w/o Zappos). I used to wear Birkenstocks and still do for arch support, but they obviously don’t do well in wet, muddy conditions. This is my 2nd pair of H2s, and I bought 2 pair this time: one for yard work around the house and one for summer outings. They offer tremendous ankle and arch support for all day comfort while the adjustable lace system provides a great fit with or without socks. My whole family has been wearing Keens for 5-6 years now and loves them! My last pair lasted through 4-5years of abuse of my 275lb frame!

I’ve been trying to convert my husband to Keens for a couple of years and finally just went ahead and bought him these for a trip and now can’t get him to wear anything else. We hike a lot, cross streams, ride bikes and socialize, and these have been everywhere. He says that they are the best shoes ever…

Absolutely the most comfortable sandal ever… no it’s the most comfortable anything ever! I’ve been looking at this Keens for a few years but I had a pair of Chacos that were still in good shape so I just always passed. Well the Chacos finally gave out and I ordered a pair of the Newport H2 sandals. Wow! First off I saw a couple of the reviews stating they ran small. I typically wear 11.5 but usually get running shoes in 12’s. I like my sandals to fit pretty much spot on and I took a chance and ordered 11.5 and they’re perfect. They’re fairly easy to get on and off. They have a decently anatomical footbed that so far hasn’t had an issue with odor. They are slightly heavy for a sandal but they also protect your feet much better too. Did I say they were comfortable? I did? Well I’ll say it again. These things are comfortable! I wore them around inside the house a few days to make sure I didn’t need to send them back for anything and I couldn’t take them off. I’ve been raving about them so much now my wife wants some so I guess I have Mother’s Day figured out. Off to order some right now for my wife from Zappos!

Bought two pairs in this style, one for my husband and one for myself, and wanted to love them. I hoped they would be great for my 5 mile walks on the beach, but whenever I wear them and let them get wet they give me crazy blisters. I bandaged up all the usual blister spots to wear them again and got blisters in new places. Annoying. My husband was a fan of his and loved to wear them kayaking, but with even only occasion light wear the main strap near the rear of the shoe pulled free from the footbed.

Keen Newport’s are now junk. I’ve owned many before but now quality control is nonexistent. The shoes below were worn 20 times on boat and sand. The foot bed and straps came unglued. DO NOT BUY, DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY.

Started falling apart after only a few weeks. My last pair of Keen’s lasted me 14 years, this pair will be lucky to make it to 14 weeks.
Anonymous –
Utter garbage. Quality has slowly faded over the years but this last pair I bought 6 months ago was the last straw. Two straps have come unglued from the sole…rendering the shoe impossible to wear. Funny…my Chacos are substantially made and have lifetime guarantee. Keens are glued and have a 30 day.
All I can say is ….NEVER AGAIN.

I have bought other keen footwear before and find I have to go a half size to full size larger.
THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH THESE. BUY YOUR TRUE SIZE.
Trube –
WOW!!! One of the soles came unglued and started flopping off the rest of the sandal.
I looked back and see that I bought these in 2006! I guess they have served their purpose… BUT WAIT, I applied some contact cement and viola, good as new.
Normal wear and tear, though I put them through the ringer.

These were comfortable out of the box. No break-in period. I also ordered a pair of Newports. Realize that the H2’s are not leather like the Newport. The insole is a textured plastic material, unlike the leather lined Newports. These are designed to get wet and dirty, and cleaned easily. Not being leather, they are a bit cooler to have on all day compared to an all-leather sandal. I’m using the Newport as my daily summer shoe, and the H2’s for wet weather.
I am either 10.5 and 11 in most shoes. 11’s fit perfect with these, so they might run a bit small. Seem to be very well made.

Hubby luved these for boating and fishing but they didn’t even last a year. Straps all separated at seam. Bummer
Anonymous –
Not what they used to be, sad to say. I’ve been wearing Keen Newport sandals pretty much daily for 16 years. After many years of consistent fit and performance, the most recent replacements I ordered feel snug to the point of discomfort. (Many other reviews attest to this.)
I looked at my most recent comfortable pair and they said “Made in Cambodia”. The uncomfortable pairs say “Made in Mexico”. So I conclude Keen has recently changed its manufacturing facilities (and assumedly, manufacturing cost) that has resulted in the change in fit. Both pairs are size 11, but the Mexico-manufactured pair is over a half-inch smaller in the ankle opening diameter. No wonder they feel snug.
I have no idea why Keen would deliberately screw up its most successful product but … I will be switching to a different brand.

Like a few other reviews I am having an issue with the straps falling sort under normal wear and tear over the past 90 days.

My husband has worn Keen Newport H2s for many years and has reordered approximately every 2 years. In September 2020 he ordered them again, and within 2 months they had a tear in them. We exchanged for another pair in the same size 11 he’s worn for years. The new size 11s are so tight they left indentations in his feet. Looked at a local shoe store, and they all looked like they were about to tear in the same spot. Ordered new pairs in 11 and 11.5 from Zappos because of their excellent customer service. Both so tight he can’t even get them on. Returning both pairs. Keen’s quality and consistency have really gone down. Not sure what to get now. He has worn these every day for years.

I was looking for Keen Newport in women’s..I wear an 8.5 in the Newport in women’s (they run small so it’s good to size up a half size)..No one had it in my color request (black)..so I contacted Keen to see if there was a comparable in male sizing..Yahooo! 7.5 in male fits great..a bit wider box which works great for me..Try it ..You’ll like it if you can’t find your color in your size.
