Well….I only wear Keen’s. Really. So I was happy to see something new that might work for me. However, the width was not normal Keen. That’s a problem. I am always surprised when they come out with new shoes and change the width…usually too small. I believe that Keen is the champion of “wider than normal” and one of the reason they are successful. They just blew it here. Nice looking shoe. Has potential…unrealized.

I’ve only worn them a few times. The are lighter than the Norfolk with a softer sole. My foot is wide, arch high, heel narrow. Theses shoes fit me so well, I might by another pair to have on hand.

Comfortable sandal for casual wear. Wear daily on walks and they are holding up well so far. Only complaint is my pinky to is completely exposed. Would prefer if that hole was not there.

I’m a long time KEEN sandal wearer and this design is a letdown (flop).
Lot of good attributes like the new sole design but the fit is off compared to the tried and true
Newport or Clearwater CNX.

Although Keen advertises that their Sandler’s are true fit, they are not. I always end up getting the 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size. Width is alway true as advertised

These sandals replace my keens which I bought 10 years ago. Still in great shape but showing their age.

I was disappointed. Unlike Keen Utility shoes, the soles were really flimsy so I didn’t even bother to try them on. The pair of KEEN Rapids H2 had a much stiffer sole so I kept those and returned the Solr Sandal. It could be a me thing, yet with out stiff sole from heal the ball of foot, I get really bad plantar fasciitis…. so this was a no go for me.

I really like the style. One criticism is Keen’s sizing. Years ago I had a pair and bought my typical size 10 only for the shoe to be too tight. So this time I bought 10 1/2 and they still remain a little tight. Yes, they’ll work out and probably be ok.

I actually bought this pair as a backup. I love my current pair so much that I didn’t want to chance them being discontinued. I can wear them all day and my feet feel great. Highly recommend

very comfortable, I’ll take them off when it snows!

Bottom line: if you have high arches don’t even think to order these sandals–our any Keen sandals. If you have high arches you won’t be able to get your feet into the sandals. I ordered sandals that were bigger than I usually order and I still couldn’t get my feet into the sandals.

The Solr sandal corrects the flaw with Keen’s H2 sandals, which is that the sewing below the ankle eventually comes undone. This has happened with both of my previous H2 Keens. They were great sandals, but they would have lasted longer if Keen had corrected the problem. The Solr fit is significantly smaller, so mine fit OK but tighter. If you want the same fit you had with H2’s, order a half size larger. The Material seems stiffer than the H2, but I’m thinking they will soften up a bit with wear. Even with the stiffer material, they are comfortable. The change in the upper material seems like it will absorb less water when wet, but I have not yet worn mine in water. The soles seem about the same as my good old Keens, but Keen says they have been designed to be more sticky on surfaces when wet, a good thing. Overall, I love them so far, and hope they last at least as long as my beloved H2’s.

My husband loves these shoes! Bought them for aquarobics class but he wears them for other activities, too.

Fabulous water sandals. These are great to wear on the beach or while snorkeling. They fit well very true to size. Love the color! Quick shipping too!

True fit great for water fun

These shoes were perfect other than the fact that my pinkie toe was exposed and caused uncomfortable rubbing.
AJ –
Totally agree with the reviewer who suggested ordering a half size up. I always wear size 11, but size 11 in these sandals were super tight on me. Couldn’t move my toes at all. In terms of width, they are pretty wide – not super wide – but closer to wide than normal. On the positive side, they look nice, and Keen usually makes good quality footwear.

I have been wearing Keen shoes (several pair) and Keen sandals(Newport) for around 10 years. There was never a defect, and you could buy another pair of the shoe you liked with confidence that they hadn’t changed. Since March of 2020, I have ordered Keen Voyageur shoes, Keen Targhee shoes, Keen Newport sandals and Keen Solr sandals. Every single pair has had at least one of the shoes defective: Weird lumps under the insole, poor glueing, soles curved up at the ends for no functional reason, one shoe’s sole thicker than the other, etc. Something happened at Keen. They WERE my go to shoe. Not any more. Also, NOTE: Zappos does not ask if the shoe I’m returning is defective, so I assume they are sending the defective ones out over and over. Be forewarned!

Great fit, nice looking sandal. Haven’t worn them too much as yet… they may be a bit “hot” on the bottom of my feet tho.

The shoes were nice, but not the “high arch support” described
Mikey –
I bought these for my son for a camping trip and he just loved them! good fit and very comfortable.

These sandals have minimal arch support, which for me is perfect because high arch support totally kills my feet. They’re rugged/sturdy feeling and I expect they’ll be good for hiking. Not as much airflow as I’d hope for in a sandal but it’s a tradeoff I’m willing to make as I need the toe guards and a hikeable sandal.

I wanted something that was a “crossover” and these are perfect. I mean they’re what I need around the water and also they look pretty civilized to wear out and about other places also.
Anonymous –
I didn’t like the ankle strap at all. I felt it was too tight, and overall the Solr sandal didn’t have as many holes as I had hoped.
Anonymous –
The sandal felt too short for my foot.
